We would like to thank you all for reading, and contributing to our Ashes in Wales blog. We will be hosting a NatWest T20 International between England and Australia on Monday 31 August with tickets on sale here.

The SSE SWALEC, the 16,000 all-seater cricket stadium located in Sophia Gardens in Cardiff, earned the right to stage the first Investec Ashes Test in the 2015 series in a competitive tender process involving the nine Test Match Venues in England & Wales. Cricket’s most prestigious contest was previously staged at the venue in 2009 when James Anderson and Monty Panesar helped England hold out for a draw on the final day.

The Ashes In Wales Blog serves as a supplement to traditional media coverage by presenting behind-the-scenes content to those keen to know more about the measures taken to stage an event on this scale. We hope to have kept you up to date with the cricket while introducing you to key characters involved in the running of the game, and the spectators in attendance.
